Very soon, the Senate will be getting ready to vote on common-sense proposals to reduce gun violence -- centered around universal background checks. More than nine in 10 Americans agree on this, but there are still some in Congress who have committed to standing in the way with whatever political games they can use. Some are even trying to prevent the issue from being debated at all. Now is the time to stand together and demand action. This Saturday, along with our friends at Mayors Against Illegal Guns, folks across the country are holding community events to demand a vote on reducing gun violence -- and there's one near you, in your community.
